
Over 200 works by Andy Warhol that Neapolitans and tourists will be able to admire until 23 February 2020 at the Basilica della Pietrasanta, in the heart of the historic center of Naples.
In this way, in the Campania region, the pop world that marked Warhol’s rise with works such as the timeless Campbell’s Soup, the screen-printed portrait of Marylin, the famous Mao serigraphs of 1972 and the very famous Flowers of 1964.
Alongside works that tell the American scene of the 1900s, in the rooms of Pietrasanta there are also works that reveal Warhol’s relationship with Italy and a focus dedicated to the city of Naples with his Vesuvius of 1985 and the Portrait of Beuys, created in 1980 on the occasion of the exhibition held at the Amelio Gallery.
The exhibition offers the public a complete view of the artistic production of the American genius that has revolutionized the concept of art work since the second post-war period.
